Eddie walked down the muddy path and into the cemetery where his best friend rested in peace. He bit back tears as he squeezed his girlfriend, Lauren’s hand. Thank god he had someone with him. He tightened his grip on the flowers he’d got for him.
*They walked up to the grave, silence all around them. Eddie looked at the headstone for his best friend. It was pretty simple. “here lies a true hero, Mason James Ashford, who passed away in battle on the 5 january 2010, aged 17.”
*He sighed heavily, looking at the flowers and then the headstone. He walked forward, cleaned the headstone off with his sleeve and lay the flowers down before his headstone, and let a tear fall. “I’ll miss you buddy.” He whispered softly.
